Bogshall Professional Olives – Truth in the Oil

הזיתים של בוגשל פרופשיונל – אמת בשמן
For chefs, professional kitchen owners, restaurateurs and food-savvy consumers – olives are not an addition. They are a raw material. They are a base for flavors. They are a culinary statement. But do all the olives sold in Israel really meet the standard we expect?

Disclosure: What's really in the can?

Most of the Israeli public – and some professional kitchens as well – are unaware of a disturbing fact: a significant portion of the olives sold in Israel are not grown in Israel at all, or even in countries known for their quality. Many of them are imported from Egypt, Turkey, and sometimes even smuggled into Israel illegally – without any supervision, without documentation, and most importantly – without transparency.

In many cases, suppliers in Israel purchase olives in bulk from unknown sources, package them with “impressive” branding, and present them as a quality product – even though in reality, it is an inferior product in terms of quality, taste, and storage.

Why is this happening?

Israel does not have a large-scale olive industry to meet the enormous demand in the food industry. Importers are forced to fill this gap – and some prefer to “cut costs” even at the cost of severely compromising quality.
This creates an absurd situation – a customer pays a premium price, and receives a product that is at best reasonable, and at worst – simply not worthy.

We at Bogshall Professional chose a different path. We set out. We traveled, we tested, we tasted, we signed agreements – until we found the olives that we are proud to stand behind. Olives that not only meet standards – but set them anew.

Olives from Greece – quality that begins in the soil

Greece – perhaps the place most identified in the world with a tradition of thousands of years of olive growing. There, between the mountains and the Mediterranean sun, grow the olives from which the true flavors are born. Our partner, Apollon Company – is considered one of the world leaders in the field of olives. The process of growing, ripening, harvesting, pickling and packaging – are all done using meticulous methods and the strictest European standards.
